Portland in September

September is Portland’s last hurrah of summer. As the daylight hours shrink to a still decent 12 hours a day, and students head back to school, it can be a great month to experience the city.

Temperatures in September are usually in the low 70s still, with average highs in the mid 70s and lows in the 50s.

September 24-25: Portland Polish Festival Celebrate all things Polish, including a polka competition (and potato pancakes!)

September 30-October 2: Portland Greek Festival Celebrate Greek culture, food, and dance (and baklava!)

Sept 30: Portland Art Museum Free Admission The Portland Art Museum offers free admission on the fourth Friday of each month between 5-8pm.

THINGS TO DO

As summer wraps up, it’s a great time to make one last summer trip to the Oregon coast, go fruit picking at Sauvie Island, enjoy the final days of summer at one of Portland’s rooftop bars, or go wildlife spotting at the Oregon Zoo. Movies in the Park is another ongoing event that you’ll find at neighborhood parks all around Portland in September.
